Well we had our Doctor (just like Daddy)!!! and our last minute pumpkin. So Samuel was actually going to be Jacob's patient (wearing a skeleton sleeper that Jacob wore his first Halloween), but the sleeper was WAY to big for Samuel, and I didn't realize this until it was an hour before we needed to leave for the Halloween party. OOPS! So with the Jack-o-lantern hat, orange shirt (stuffed with a burp rag to round him out a bit), and brown pants we had ourselves a pumpkin!!!!

So here is our sweet little Samuel!!!! We love him so much. Jacob is adapting really well. He loves to hold him, and to be a big helper. Jacob almost never calls him Samuel, instead I think he prefers to call him "Jacob's baby brother."
Samuel was 7 pounds 8 oz, and 19 inches long, born on October 11th.

So I went to the mothers of twin sale looking for a sit and stand stroller. I didn't find one (which meant that I have now looked in every possible place I could and can now get the one-that is reasonably prices- that I want). We went and picked it up today. Love it!!!! Just so you don't think this morning was too sad, I was actually so excited about finding the best toys, mostly for Jacob. I found a shake 'n go track with 4 cars for only $10 =0! I also found a shape sorter that I thought would be a blast for the baby (and Jacob, because he loves them) to play with eventually. Of course I found some clothing, but I have to say I was a little disappointed in the 0-3 months for boys section. It was mostly PJs, which I already have from Jacob. Good shopping day!!!

So Jacob talks all the time, and my new favorite word that he says is delicioun (aka delicious). When he was eating yogurt yesterday, after every bite he would say "delicioun." I tried to get him to say it right, which he could, but then still said delicioun after every bite. So just to correct you all it is now delicioun!!!! Man I love that little guy, he is just so cute!!!!

Just to let you all know what JJ is up to. First we are so excited to have him home, even if he is super busy in this rotation. He has been loving his orthopedic rotations, and has really been able to show them what a great person and student-doctor he is. We are so proud of him, but I can't wait until this audition time is all over, then I will finally have my husband back.

Well this is the final count down; 3 weeks before our new little man comes to join us!!!! (unless he decides to come early-I just need to finish Jacob's scrubs for Halloween, so he can work on baby brother's bones--skeleton sleeper).

BIG WEEK!!!!

So yesterday was a very big day for Jacob. He has not been interested in potty training at all. We have tried several times, and he just doesn't seem interested. Well yesterday he woke up ask if he could wear Lightening McQueen pants (some pull ups that we have). I told him only if he would go potty in the big boy toilet. So he went to go sit on the toilet and nothing happened (which is what would usually happen when we tried before), but I still let him wear the pull ups since he tried. Then a little later he was giving that face like he was pooing, and I asked him if he wanted to go in the big boy toilet; he said no. Then the next thing I know he walks into the bathroom takes off him pants and pull ups off and sit on the toilet. THEN HE DID IT, he POOPED in the toilet all by himself. I was so proud of him. Now if we could just get him to pee in the toilet. It's a good start and hopefully he continues to want to be a big boy! Yesterday was also the first time Jacob drew and object. Jacob loves to color (and does pretty good at it), but has never really drawn anything. Well he drew a fish yesterday and we were so excited. I just can't believe how fast he is growing up!!! Oh another momentous occasion, Jacob has also started to read this month. We have been teaching him some sight words. This kiddo just loves to learn. JJ and I are so proud of him. We love you kiddo!

So this weekend is also a big occasion too! This weekend JJ and I will have been married for 5 years. Wow time flies when you are having fun. It kind of feels like we have been married longer, and at the same time I can't believe that it has been 5 years already. I truly can't imagine my life without this wonderful man. I am so lucky to have him with me forever. Love you honey!!!!!!

This Saturday I will also be 36 weeks along!!! I can't wait until we meet our new little man. Now if we could only decide on a name. That is the million dollar question. So what do you all think; here are the 4 we have it narrowed down to...

So Ohio has been fun, this month I have finished so many projects. I finished the throw pillows for the family room, I finished the pillows that go in the basement, and made new bedding (new duvet cover, pillow cases, through pillows, and even matching wall decor). I rearranged the family room, dining room, and our bedroom. I also made a car seat canopy, flannel receiving blanket (since this baby is a fall and winter baby), and dressed up a burp rag to match. Pictures coming soon. I still have about 8 more projects that I want to get done before out little guy joins us. Wish me luck!! I think I was trying to keep myself busy while JJ was gone on a rotation. The weather is finally turning fall, which I just love!

So sorry, I have been slacking. Part of me is thinking what would I write about, and the other part is thinking that there is too much that has happened. I don't know if that is really possible, and if it doesn't make sense I blame it on being pregnant. I now have less then 2 months left, before our no name baby comes to see us. I guess JJ and I should decide on a name, but we are both kind-of stubborn and like different names.
JJ has been enjoying his rotations so far in his fourth year. We are so releaved, proud, and excited that JJ is DONE with his Step 2 Board Tests!!!!!! No just the waiting game of interviews and "THE residency MATCH." I don't know if I can wait until February to find out where we will be for the next 5 years. Waiting games.
Jacob is doing great, even though sometimes I feel like a monster has taken over his body. I know I am his Mom and is my job to proud and bias, but we have one smart cookie!!!! Before Jacob was 2 he knew his entire alphabet, and not just order but truly recognized all the letters. He knew his numbers 1-20, and 1-10 in spanish (which he learned from his cousin in 1 weekend that they spent together in Tucson). Jacob is now 3 and has picked up on phonics (for the most on his own). He is just so eagar to learn; it has always been something that we have been able to use to keep him occupide. So a couple of weeks ago, JJ started to see if Jacob wanted to learn how to read. We have been spelling some words with him for a while, like his name and small 3 letter words. So Jacob can now spell words like love, family, prayer. We use this colage of words (by the kitchen table) that I made about a year ago from conference October 2010 conference topics that stuck out to our little family. HE IS JUST AMAZING, I'm just saying.
We had so much fun in AZ even though we missed JJ when he was in Oregan (doing a rotation). It was hard to leave our family, but it was nice to come home, and I was so glad that we pretty much left the home spotless. So now I think that the correct word is nesting, but I always enjoy orgnizing. I have started to deep clean every room in our house and reorganizing to make space work better for our family. The main floor is pretty much done, but now I need to work on the bedrooms. Which means that I can finally get the babies things completely ready. I just need about another 4-5 weeks before this guy can come. We are so excited to have our little family of four!!!!!!

It's Official

Okay, we went to the doctor the other day, and it is official we are having another sweet little boy. I just hope that I can keep up with this one too. Jacob is a very sweet, energetic, rambunctious, and adventurous little boy, and if the next one is anything like his older brother I will have my hands full. But we are very excited!!!!! I would love to have another boy like Jacob. He is my little helper and a total cuddlier (sometimes a little too cuddly). I love you little man!!! I have already gone through all of Jacob's old clothes and it's amazing how little we will need (at least for the first 6 months; I haven't looked past that.) even though they are born on opposite seasons.
Well now I am going to be totally out numbered, but Jacob usually sides with me when it comes to tickle wars! Poor JJ, but maybe we will have even teams this time around.
So JJ is officially done with 3rd year. He is taking his last test for 3rd year right now!!!!! We are so proud and excited to start 4th year. This next year will go by so fast. I really can't wait to be out of limbo, and know where we will be for 5 years of residency.

So JJ is Officially done with his 3rd year rotations. He only has 1 more test for the year overall. (Well and he has 2 board tests coming up, but that is technically 4th year.) We are so proud of him and all that he has done. I just have to say that he has kicked some serious bum, but for all those that really know him you wouldn't expect anything less. He is such a hard and dedicated worker!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!! Yeah we are almost done, just 1 more year before residency!!!!

Jacob is just getting so big and just surprises us all the time. He is also incredibly strong. A few months back we put a child door nob on the inside of his bedroom door, and he was so mad because he didn't want to stay in bed that he ripped it off. I don't know about you, but I always have a hard time removing those things. Jacob is obsessed with the alphabet, and lately he has loved the show "Super Why." It using letter, phonics, spelling and reading. He loves sounding out the letters and he even has picked up on some spelling certain words. I was surprised the other day that he kept saying "c-o-r-n; corn."

I am doing fine. The morning (or in my case evening) sickness has finally passed!!!! YEAH!!! I just keep wanting to get things ready for this baby, so I have started to go through every room and trying to find things that we no longer need. I hopefully my box of things gets much bigger. I just always feel like we have too much stuff (meaning junk) that we just don't use. I think that I am just an organizer freak. I enjoy it way too much. I love to find a more productive way of using our space!!!! We can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl; we find out in just over a week!! What do you think????

I know that we all can't wait for 4th year to begin, it is going to be filled so much fun, busy, and life changing events!!! Bring it on. I have a feeling that this next year is going to fly.

So after try for a year, including losing a baby this last summer,
I am pleased to say that Jacob is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!! We are so very excited to add to our little family (this October)!!!

Conference!!!

It was such a nice weekend. JJ got to be home (instead of needed to go in Saturday morning--since they were super slow on his rotation). On Saturday, it was so fun to explain to Jacob that we got to watch Conference or how he would say it "confence." Even though I know he didn't totally understand why were watching. It was fun to point out the Prophet to him, and the Apostles. Jacob even called a few of the older ones "Jesus." I know that JJ and I were able to enjoy the weekend, with some distractions of a very energetic little boy! What a privilege to listen to the wonderful talks. All though I have to tell you, being in Ohio and not watching until 12:00pm, 4:00, and Priesthood at 8:00 is totally weird. However, I still enjoyed some girl time with some ladies in the ward (Jacob had a super late nap, and ended up going with me and stayed up until JJ got home). I know I must be a bad Mom for letting him stay up so late, but we had fun together!!!! I sure love my boys!

Oops! I usually try to post at least once (hopefully more) a month, but I just missed February. It is just too short, but at the same time it seemed like it lasted forever. I got my hopes all up over the weather. It was being very strange and it actually was feeling warm...it got into the 40's, 50's and barely into the 60's. I was so excited the snow was gone, and the sun was out!!!!! And of course Jacob and I got sick. Just a cold and Jacob also got a cough, but this meant that we didn't get to enjoy in the good weather that didn't last. Before we knew it there was snow again. Now that I have lived in the snow I can say that I hate it. Mostly I hate driving in it, and having to stay inside because the wind here is horrible. But there are a few pluses...Jacob loves to play in it (for about 30-40 minutes), it can be beautiful just after freshly fallen snow, and Jacob just gets so excited when he sees the snow fall. It has actually warmed up a little now and the snow is all gone again (hopefully for good). The weather has been great that Jacob and I have been going on little wakes together. He just loves to be outside!!!! Other then the weather there is not much to report. We are all doing great. We love spending as much time as possible together; even though with JJ's crazy schedule that is not too much (but he is a great help to me. Love you honey!).
Jacob is totally and completely obsessed with puzzles. The simple ones (put this shape in the right place), or full on kid puzzles. It doesn't matter he loves them all. I honestly don't know the last time that they were all put away. He is also in love with books. One of his favorites is "How do Dinosaurs eat all their Food." He just checked it out from the library after about 3 months of not getting it, and he still knows the story. He started to read by himself before we even left the library. I think that this is going to be one that we need to get for him.

December
So I decided that I needed to post something since it has been almost 2 months. Sorry. December was fun and crazy busy. Between finishing gifts, enjoying to season, visiting family and getting JJ done with one rotation only to get him ready for another after Christmas. It has been crazy, needless to say.
We had fun visiting family in AZ, but decided that it wasn't long enough. We were only in AZ for about 1 week, and had hardly any down time. But I have to admit that I loved very bit of it. It was so good to see family. And a special Thanks to our good friends Adam and Laura for coming to a family event just so we could catch up. It was so good to see you guys.
Thank heavens we flew Southwest, because we used every possible free luggage we could (6 checked bags, and we each had a personal item and a carry-on. Jacob included since we had to buy him his own seat.) Thank you to all for all the wonderful gifts! We all have enjoyed them, especially Jacob!

So January has been crazy too.
(ME) I have been going through every room and deciding what needs to be packed (because we aren't using it now, but don't want to give it up), what needs to find a better place to keep it, what needs to be given away, and what needs to be thrown away. I have been working on this all month and I am only about half way done with the house. I also rearranged the family room and the dinning room, without moving too much so I didn't have to redue the large picture arrangements on the large walls.

JJ has been busy with his Cardiology rotation (which he loved), but is starting his Rural rotation in orthopedics today! We are also trying to figure out JJ's 4th year schedule, calling and applying to the possible residency places to see if he can do an "audition rotation" aka "away rotation." So pretty much the fall is going to stink, because JJ will be gone so much. But it will all be worth it in the end.

Jacob has been just as busy and crazy. We have a neighbor that is doing a little music class, that he is really enjoying. Jacob is also taking 2 classes at the local rec. center. He is doing Sporties for Shorties, which he enjoys but starts to get a little bored by the end of class (which is 45 minutes). The other class is Tiny Tumblers. HE LOVES THIS CLASS!!! He hates to leave. He loves to walk on the balance beams, and to jump off the vault. He is learning how to do a somersault and a backwards somersault. He loves to jump on the spring floor (a slightly spring mat on a rectangular trampoline). Jacob is enjoying hanging on the bars and trying to hold his legs out. It is just so much fun to see him learn and enjoy his fun activities. Plus he just loves getting out of the house. It is just too cold to do anything really outside, except for the occasional time we play in the snow (which he loves!!!!! I can't wait until there is enough snow and it is wet enough to make a snowman. Jacob loves snowmen. He has this book called "Snowmen and Christmas" that I use to have to read every night before he went to bed. I read it so much that I still have it memorized. Jacob is even practicing his stretches and the beginnings of a somersalut as I post this blog. Well, I better go help him!

Overall we are doing great here is OHIO, I just can't wait until spring!

Jacob's 1st Snow

This morning it was snowing fairly lightly when JJ went to work, so of course I get Jacob all bundled up to go out and play. This is his first real experience with snow.

This last weekend in Cleveland with James and Tara, it did snow a little, and very lightly, but the flakes were very small and nothing was sticking to the ground. Jacob just loved the snow; I wonder how he will like it when enough actually falls, and stay to play in?

Halloween!!!

This was Jacob's first real Halloween (he has been sick the last 2 years on Halloween), and even though he did have a little fun last year, he wouldn't wear the lion costume we borrowed for him. This was a ton of fun. Right now he just LOVES trains. He has a train from Gpa and Gma Taylor from last Christmas and he just loves to play with it. So I made him a train out of two large (costco size) huggie boxes, paper and paint and a ton of tape. At first Jacob only wanted to ride in his train, so we put it away so he could enjoy trick or treating. After 2 house, he thought that it was "awesome" (his words). Even though we had been practicing saying trick or treat all day, he would only said it at a few houses.

Fall

We have been up to so much this October. WE have had a blast going to the zoo with friends and daddy!!!! (this was at the fun rides) (Jen thanks for always inviting us to go to the zoo. Yeah for season passes!)

Paul and Shawna came to visit!!!!! We all had so much fun! (We went to COSI)

We had a blast going to the pumpkin patch with friends from the ward!! (Amber thanks for planning the mid-week activities)

October has been so busy and fun with our wonderful friends!!! There is so much to keep little ones busy here.

A little update with the family. JJ is enjoying his rotations; he just wishes that he had more time on his hands. He stays pretty busy between family and school.
Jacob is getting so big. The last couple of weeks he is really been trying to push all the limits. So it has been a work in progress to help him learn. He is really loving trains. We checked out this book called "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo" and he is obsessed with it (thanks Lindsay Palmer for the awesome list of kids books). Good thing he is going to be a train conductor for Halloween-(pictures to come soon).
I have just been busy with Jacob and trying to get some of my many crafts done. I am also on a venture to take some cloths that I had before Jacob that don't fit any more and alter them or use the material to make a dress or skirt. Lots to do, but it will be fun!

Apple Picking

Jacob was so exciting to pick apples, and had so much fun (even though he would pick some that weren't good).

I really liked that there were quite a few apples in his range, but he still tried to reach for the ones up higher.

He even figured out to twist the apple for the stem to break off the tree all by himself!

We love going to midweek (play group), and he especially has loved playing with his friend Shane. They have so much fun together; along with the other kids too.

Now what are we going to do with all the apples? (we really didn't get too many)

So, I hate cooking new things. I am always so worried that it is going to turn out gross, and I am going to have to figure something else out. Well last night I made blackened chicken!!!! It turn out perfect. It was beautiful (sorry no picture we ate it all). We a couple of wonderful new friends over and decided to slice it up and put it into a build your own salad (tomatoes, green peppers, green onions, carrots, Colby jack cheese, and purple grapes) Yummy!!!! If I had made more chicken, the chicken was so good it could have stood one it's own. I am so excited I almost want to make it again tonight!!! Now I can't wait to try the next yummy dish on my list!!!!!

WE'RE HERE!

Well we made it to Columbus Ohio all in one piece! We have been busy with getting the apartment ready, and dealing with getting a washer and dryer, and microwave. We have been so busy trying to find a place for everything. (pictures of the apartment soon) Just busy, busy, busy.

Well our little boy is 2 years old. I am so glad that we had his birthday early. We got here the afternoon before his birthday, but man it was so busy that we really didn't have much time to celebrate his birthday. Jacob is so smart. By 2, he knows and loves his numbers 1-10 and his alphabet. About a week before we moved Jacob and I were in Mesa with my Mom and Karl. We split up so that we could get what we needed. My Mom had no problems finding us, because Jacob was yelling all the numbers that he could see. He was so excited. Now he is 2 years and 1 week and already almost has the numbers 11-20 down pat. He is so smart, just like his Daddy!!!! Things that Jacob loves: numbers, letters, chicken(especially orange chicken from Panda), COOKIES, blocks, cars, STAIRS (our apartment has an up stairs for the bedrooms and he just loves to go up and down them), shapes, coloring, movies--Cinderella, Cars, Incredibles, juice, puzzles, panda bear, slides, balls, and lining up anything and everything!!!! That's our little boy; we love him so much.

Moving

We are moving in lease than 2 weeks to Columbus. I can't believe it is so soon. I love Arizona, even in the summer heat. I love being around family and friends, and we will miss them all so much. It is amazing what you find that still needs to be packed! There is so much that is going on...Jacob's early birthday party, Father's Day (on the road) and then Jacob's actual birthday the day after we get to Ohio. not to mention the other family members with birthdays before we even leave.
I can't believe that our little boy is going to be 2 years old. He is just growing up so much. He is so smart. He knows his numbers 1-10, and his ABC's. He loves numbers, shapes, colors, and lining up anything and everything under the sun. He loves almost every fruit and veggie, in fact most of the time he prefers them over bread and meat. Jacob loves to read books, he loves to just run, run, run, and he loves to climb and jump. It is always a huge task to even keep up with him, but we love him so much. Happy Early Birthday Jacob!!!!!

Almost done packing, but the bare minimums. Wow I can't believe that we are leaving so soon. We are so excited to move to Ohio (of course I just choose not to think about us leaving family). I just wish all the details were all worked out. I also wish I could just wiggle my nose and we would be in Ohio.

Jacob and I are traveling to see family and giving JJ plenty of space for a distraction free study time for Boards. Lucky him!

Jacob and I have been having so much fun. We have been doing activities, movies, songs, coloring, and finding all his things with either the color, letter, shape or number that we are working on. I have found that it is a lot easier and more fun to do colors and letters. We always have a full day of activities when we work on letters. I think that those are his favorite days too. He is so smart. I just love him so much. Jacob has so much energy; it is hard to keep up with him.

We leave in about 2 months for Ohio. We were excited to finally get a little more information on the rotations in Ohio; not much but I'll take it. JJ is working hard and studying all the time, but it is really paying off. So far this year he has gotten straight A's, and this quarter is no different so far. We are so proud of him. He is also studying for his board exams. JJ is busy, busy, busy.

I have just been busy packing and playing with Jacob. I think that I am about halfway done with the packing, but there is only so much that I can do right now. I will just have to wait, but I am a little anxious!! Jacob has been such a good helper.

Packing, Packing and more packing!

Well first of all Easter was a blast! Jacob had so much fun this year. He went crazy just picking up as many eggs as he could. (pictures soon).

I have 15 moxes packed already, but still have so much to do. I am kind-of at a stand point where I can't do much more for another 2-3 weeks. We are very excited to move to Ohio. Well better get back to getting ready to move.

So JJ is finishing his last quarter of classes!!!! I am so excited with this new schedule. On Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday JJ is done with classes by noon!!!! Even though he needs to study (which he does at home), it is nice because Jacob takes his nap at about 12:30. So while Jacob is sleeping and JJ is studying at home I can run errands!!!!! I love my son, but it is so nice to go by myself.

I have now packed 7 boxes, but I still have so much to pack! I just want everything to go smoothly. JJ will be very busy studying for his board tests, and we will be moving the day after his test. Lots to do, with plenty of time. I figure if a do some boxes evey week then I won't get too stressed out.

Jacob is just getting so big. He is started to talk so much, even though he doesn't articulate too well yet. I just love it!!!!

Jacob's favorite word!

So Jacob has discovered a new word........."NO". He is saying no to everything; even when he wants something (like when i ask him if he wants a snack, he says no but then walks over to the pantry waiting for a snack). He is so silly!

When I found out that I was pregnant with Jacob, I gave JJ a baby book called "Kisses for Daddy." It is so cute. So basically the whole story is the Daddy bear trying to get a good night kiss from the baby bear. He tries all different kinds of kisses...koala, giraffe, tiger, bat and more....but everytime the baby says "NO, no kisses for daddy."

Jacob is so funny, he just laughs so much when JJ reads him the book.
I just love seeing Daddy and son time.

Moving

Why it is so difficult to move? You would think that I would have this down by now, since we have moved every year of our marriage. This is by far the biggest move, since we are moving to Ohio. We need to change everything (insurance-health, car, renters..., address info, doctors, and so on). I think once we are out their it will be nice, and a new adventure.
Well nothing else new with us really, except that Jacob is talking all the time. He is so cute, if I ask him to say something he doesn't want to, but if I am just talking to him he says all sorts of words.

I am so excited for tomorrow! This is Jacob's 2nd Christmas, but the first that he will actually be able to unwrap his own gifts. We have a very busy Christmas Eve and Christmas day with family. Also, we (The Cooley girls) are singing at the Temple Christmas night. Have a very merry Christmas!!!

So in about 14 hours Aubrey is going to be home from her mission. This will be the first time that Aubrey will meet Jacob (he was born 3 weeks after she left). We are so excited to see her. Yeah for family!!!!

Fall

I love this weather. I love the cool breeze. I love waking up and putting on slippers. I love opening up windows and letting the fresh air in. I love not using the AC. I love wearing sweaters, and using blankets. I love the fall!!!!

Well another quarter is almost over. JJ is doing so well, we are so proud of him. In December we will be finding out where JJ will be next year for his rotations. Since his class is so large they are doing a lottery for who will be going in what area. There are about 13 areas to choose from, both here in the Phoenix area and out of state. As part of this lottery you choose 4 locations that you would want to go (1 must be a rural area). I can't wait to find out, but I am not looking forward to moving again. I guess that it is part of life. So far we have moved every year of our marriage, and I guess we won't stop until JJ's residency. Good thing I keep the boxes!

So this is so cute. This little rocking chair that Jacob is sitting on was mine when I was little. JJ had to fix it up a bit, so that the arms wouldn't break off (great job honey!). The chair is in Jacob's room. So the other day Jacob goes into his bedroom and he is being pretty quiet so JJ and I go see what he is doing. We found him sitting in his chair looking at his book, and pointing at the pictures. This was so sweet! He just loves books so much.

We have finally moved to our new apartment!!!! Yeah. Jacob has his own room. He is doing so well. We still have a ton of things to put away, but it is coming along.

Today, we got a piano. We have been renting to own a piano from My First Piano (great business) this last year. I really like that we were able to enjoy a piano all year, and he just got some wonderful, and cheaper pianos in. This program allows you to use any money that you have paid towards any piano (the one you have or a new one). I love this new piano!!

I can't believe it. Jacob is already 1 yr old. He is just so big. Just a little about my little boy. Jacob is a just walking everywhere, and getting into everything. He has always had a little of a hard time eating solid food, because he didn't have any teeth. He would only be able to eat things that were either mush or very small. Ever since he got his first tooth (2 weeks ago) he ahas been able to eat much better. Jacob loves to look at books, play with blocks and anything else that is small enough for him to carry around--and eventually end up in the tub. Jacob is such a sweet boy. He does really well with sharing his toys with friends. Jacob is defiantly a mama's boy. He is so sweet and loves to cuddle. We love his so much. He is such a happy baby, and a joy to have around. WE LOVE YOU JACOB!

So Jacob finally has a tooth!!! And just in time--he will be ONE in 10 days. HE will also have his first hair cut sometime this next week. He is just getting so big. Jacob is just walking everywhere and trying to get into everything. But we still love him.

JJ is still busy even though it is the summer. He is working on a research project, and will be starting some shadowing of doctors soon. But we are all loving the time that we have already had together.

I am just busy trying to get projects done, making bread and rolls, and packing somethings. We are going to be moving into a 2 bedroom apartment. We will be staying on campus, just moving buildings. It will be so nice for Jacob to have his own room!

JJ is almost finished with his first year of medical school. He is ready for a break, but has really been enjoying it. This summer he is going to be plenty busy with shadowing some doctors and his research project.

So yesterday I made my first batch of homemade bread all by myself. They don't look to pretty and smooth on top, but they taste pretty good. I've made bread before, but it seems like I have always done it with someone else. It was very fun and messy.

So I have this craving lately of do all sorts of crafts. I am in the middle of making some signs to go up in our place, making a blanket for Jacob, making a quiet book, a felt ABC book, A felt numbers book, and I am making a duvet cover for our bed. I am also scrapbooking some of Jacob's 1st, throwing a baby shower for my friend here at school, and I'll be helping my Mother in law through a little shindig for her and her new husband Guy. (They eloped about a week ago.) Why do I try to do too much! But I love it.

Break

In only a few hours, JJ will be finished with another quarter! Yeah. He has w well deserved week break. We are so proud of him.

Jacob is just cruising everywhere! He wants to walk so bad. He will pull himself up to everything and then try to walk around. I don't think that I am totally ready for him to be walking. He is only 8 months.

Finals are here. JJ is almost finished with his 2nd quarter in medschool. One more to go, and he will have one year down. Jacob is crawling around like crazy. He is also pulling himself up to everythng. He has even been able to stand on his own for a few seconds. He is growing up so fast.

Well JJ's break is over, and he is back to school. This would be one of those Happy/Sad moments. He loves school, but is always nice to have time off, and we never seem to have enough time to accomplish everything we want to.
Now I need to get all the house cleaning that I have been putting off during this break. I'm so excited :/

This Christmas season was totally busy. We did the nativity scene with the LeBarons, Santa with the Palmers, Christmas Eve with the Cooleys, and Jacob meeting some good friends that moved away. Then of course Christmas Day was fun and very busy. Alst night Jacob went to see the Temple lights after myself and the Cooleys sang at the Temple.

Today as I was visiting some blogs to keep up dated with friends and family, I discovered that a friend of mine had passed away. She is only a few years older than I am, and I only knew her for a short time. Unfortunately I have not spoken with her for a while. Earlier this month after a long battle, she died of cancer. She was always happy, kind, and full of life. She will surely be missed.

It is unfortunate that some times it takes something drastic like this to make you think about what you have done in your life. Am I doing all that I can to be happy, kind, and full of life? Am I doing all I can to come closer to my Heavenly Father? Even though we can't be perfect, there is always room for improvement. I have never been one to do New Year resolutions, but the idea of making goals is always a good idea. I know that I am very grateful to to sealed to my family for all eternity. I am grateful to have a wonderful Husband, who is so kind and hard working. I am grateful for a wonderful son. I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ, and for my family.

Merry Christmas! This year is Jacob's first Christmas. We are all so excited. It is so fun seeing how much he grows up. The other night was so funny. I put Jacob in bed, and about 15 minutes later JJ went into the bedroom and could see these little eyes peeking at him. Jacob had turned around and rolled over on to his stomach, and was holding himself up and just waiting for one of us to come in. He is such a fun little kid.

JJ has been enjoying med-school, and it sure keeps him busy. I have been a baking queen. I've made a ton of banana bread, some sugar cookies, cinnamon rolls, pizza rolls, and caramels.

Jacob had a fun time this Thanksgiving weekend. He was happy. He ate some mashed potatoes, and didn't like them as much as sweet potatoes. Oh well! He can't like everything this young. Jacob just loves to sit up, even though he is still wobbly.

JJ has loved having is break and is excited to go back to school. It has been wonderful having so much time to spend with him, and to watch him be such an amazing Daddy to Jacob. I am so proud of him and the hard work he has put into doing so well in medical school. Jacob and I both love him so much. You should see how much Jacob lights up when JJ comes home from school. He is always so excited to see his Daddy, and just can't wait to play with him.

I had a ton of fun making a wreath this year. I bought a plain wreath and used extra ornaments and ribbon that I had around the house, and then I bought battery powered lights. It was so much fun, I want to do it again. I am in a very crafty mood.

It is only 27 days until Jacob's 1st Christmas!!!!!!
We put up and decorated the Christmas tree yesterday, and Jacob is just so fascinated with lights. Oh, how fun. I can't wait!

We love you all. Happy Thanksgiving. Jacob is such a sweet little boy. We Love him very much, and are so excited for him to have his first Christmas. I am very grateful for a wonderful husband. He works very hard to always help me around the house and with Jacob. It has been wonderful to spend so much time JJ and Jacob during this break. We have been able to get so much stuff done around the house, but there still does not seem to be enough time to do everything. I am so grateful for all of my family and friends. We love you all.

Loving our Break

We are all loving the break together. It is so nice that JJ has 2 weeks off. We have been able to get so much stuff done. Jacob is so big. He is 15 lbs, 6oz and 2 feet tall. He just keeps growing so fast. He has grown out of some of his 3-6 months clothing. It is just amazing. He loves to sit up and see everything around him. I think he wishes we could stop teething.

Well on the down side, we have to build a new computer the motherboard on our computer died (they don't make our old motherboard anymore). So we have to replace that and other pieces that will be compatible with the new motherboard. Well I guess it gives JJ an excuse to update our computer.

We love being out in Glendale, even though it makes it a little harder to come into town and go to family events.

JJ has finished his first quarter in Medical school. He is very excited for a much needed break. Jacob and I are so proud of all the hard work that he has put into school.

Jacob is getting so big. It is crazy this is going to be his first Thanksgiving, his first Christmas. We are all so excited. He is starting to like eating food a little better. Jacob is able to sit up on his own for a while, but sometimes if he tips a little too much in one direction, he falls too fast for him to catch himself. He wants to move around so bad. When we out him on his tummy he just moves his legs so fast, just not against the floor. He'll start moving in no time. We love watching his grow up, he is just SO CUTE!!! but I'm a little bias.

The boutique went well. I had fun doing it and having JJ's sister Alicia there with me. It definitely made it more fun to have someone else there to talk to when things got slow.

We have all enjoyed the cold weather, we just wish that it would stay that way.
MARK your calendars. On December 28th, "The Cooley Sisters" are singing at the temple. For those that don't know--JJ's Mom is a Cooley. This will also include the daughters or daughter in-laws of the sisters. So that will include Brianna, Jessica, Alicia, and myself. So come it should be great.

So it has been so long since I've been on here. We have all been so busy. I have a boutique that I'm envolved in on Saturday. So I have been trying to get everything ready for it. It has been hard to post any pictures since our computer died.

JJ is almost done with his first quarter at medical school. We are all so excited.

Jacob is getting so big, so fast. He was a cute skeleton for his first Halloween. Also, he started eating food. Well rice ceareal. He doesn't really like it. But he did enjoy sucking on a piece of canteloupe yesterday.

Things have been so busy. Between taking care of Jacob, and getting things done for this boutique, and all the million of family things going on it has been busy. JJ is doing very well at school. Jacob has been having fun with Annabelle.

Isn't it so cute--they are hugging. Just yesterday Annabelle gave Jacob a hug good bye. Sweet!! Of course then she pulled his hair.

So I went to the grand opening of "The Container Store" today. JJ found them online and got a few things that from them a while ago. I have always liked there stuff, and they finally brought a store to Arizona. It was fun, but way too busy. Jacob was really good, and he got tons of compliments, because he is just so cute. Jacob is going just fine. He just wants to go, go, go. He loves to be up and moving around (of course he is not crawling yet, but he moves his legs and arms like he is--the rest of his body just doesn't know that it needs to get off the ground). JJ is getting ready to take his first test in med school. He is trying hard to study as much as he can.

Goodness, medical students have to buy so much stuff. I just keep tellign JJ that it is an investment into his future. JJ finishes his first week of school today. He has really been enjoying it. We all especially like that he comes home for lunch. Man I love living on campus.

Jacob is doing so well. He is such a good baby; it has made it a ton easier for me to get things organized and put away. I can't wwait to have the house in order, so that I can start sewing all the baby stuff for the boutique that is coming up in November. Well Jacob and I are off to the bookstore to get more equipment for JJ. The ladies love to see Jacob when we go. These poor Med students that don't have a wife to get there stuff for them! JJ is so lucky!! haha

A new beginning!

Well JJ has started medical school, and I am trying to get everything organized in our new place. I have really enjoyed living so close to the school. It's kind-of funny but all the ladies in the bookstore know Jacob and me. They love it when we come in to get things for JJ.
